Umuzi initiative - b2s Education
The Umuzi Initiative is a charity program in Rwanda dedicated to empowering underprivileged yet talented students. It provides support to 15 students from Kigali, focusing on building confidence, leadership, decision-making, and financial literacy while improving their academic performance. Through covering school fees, supplying materials, and offering career guidance, the initiative helps these students reach their full potential.

The students in the program are provided with financial aid that covers their school expenses, which enables them to pursue their education with no financial struggles in covering things such as school fees and scholastic materials
— Access to mentorship programs
Students are also provided with a mentorship program in which they have several mentors who ensure their wellbeing and inspire them to achieve excellence in their education.
Why "Umuzi" Education Initialtive?
As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
In Kigali, many talented students from underprivileged backgrounds face significant barriers like financial constraints, inadequate educational materials, and limited access to mentorship. These challenges hinder their academic potential and opportunities for higher education or career advancement. There is a critical need for targeted support to enhance both their academic success and essential life skills. While the government works to expand education access, our focus is on improving the quality of that education.
We realized that investing in these students through education would be ideal to cut off the poverty chain in their families and communities.
In order to achieve the mission, Born to Serve provides students with basic school materials including books, pens, uniforms, bags, and other essential materials in order to reduce their financial burden on their education.
In addition, we organize training and boot camps for students where they connect with their mentors. In these camps and training, they learn life skills like leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, networking, personal development .
